The Philosophical Insomniac is a voice shaped by years of watching people closely, living inside institutions, photographing life, listening to music, coaching young people and paying attention to what people reveal when they think nobody is studying the moment.
The writing is direct because life usually is. It can be spiritual without becoming preachy, cultural without becoming academic, and personal without pretending every personal experience is universal.
The Black experience matters here because it is lived experience, history, language, memory and culture — not a marketing category. At the same time, the work is written for anybody willing to recognize something human in it.
Why “The Philosophical Insomniac”?
Because some thoughts don't arrive on schedule. They show up after the room gets quiet, after the argument is over, after the celebration ends, or years after an experience finally explains itself.
This site is where those thoughts get a permanent address.
